Terms & Conditions of Hire

These Terms & Conditions apply to all cherry picker hire services provided by Central Platforms (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or using our services, you (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Scope of Hire

  • All hire is provided with an operator only.

  • Self-drive or self-operated hire is not available.

  • he machine supplied will be a van-mounted cherry picker, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Booking & Confirmation

  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by us.

  • Verbal, email, or written acceptance of a quote constitutes agreement to these Terms & Conditions.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking where site conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.

Pricing & Payment

  • Hire charges are based on basket time only, as stated at the time of booking.

  • Set-up time, travel time, and breaks are not included in basket time unless agreed otherwise.

  • Additional charges may apply for:

  1. Weekend or evening hire

  2. 24/7 emergency call-outs

  3. Extended travel distances

  4. Operator assistance beyond normal operation

  5. Payment terms will be agreed at booking and must be made within the agreed timeframe.

Site Conditions & Client Responsibilities

The Client is responsible for ensuring:

  • Safe, legal access for the vehicle and machine

  • Adequate ground conditions for stabilisation

  • No underground services are affected by outrigger placement.

  • Any parking permits, permissions, or traffic management required are the responsibility of the Client unless agreed otherwise.

  • We reserve the right to stop work if site conditions are deemed unsafe.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • All operations are carried out by an IPAF-certified operator.

  • The machine is maintained and operated in accordance with LOLER and relevant UK regulations.

  • The operator has full authority over the safe operation of the machine at all tmes.

  • Any instruction that compromises safety will be refused.

Delays, Standby & Cancellations

  • Delays caused by the Client, site access issues, weather, or third parties may be chargeable.

  • Late cancellations may incur charges at our discretion.

  • Severe weather or unsafe conditions may result in postponed or cancelled hire without liability.

Damage & Liability

We are not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Inaccurate information provided by the Client

  • Unsafe site conditions

  • Obstructions not disclosed prior to hire

  • The Client is responsible for damage caused by third parties under their control.

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Insurance

  • We hold appropriate insurance for operated cherry picker hire.

  • This does not replace the Client’s responsibility to hold suitable site or public liability insurance where required.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, accidents, road closures, or mechanical failure.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Scottish courts.

Acceptance

By booking or using our services, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
